So you want to go skiing? Cool! If you’re not from a snowy place, it’s easy to forget the fact that you can’t just wear layers for warmth; you also have to stay dry. The following is the ultimate packing guide for you and your man so that you can have a fantastic ski trip! Please note that this packing guide is with the idea that you’re like us and prefer to pack in a carry-on. If you’re not, then definitely know you have wiggle room to add a few more pieces.

For the Mountain:

You’ll need all of the ski gear necessary to keep you warm and dry while skiing. It’s also VERY bright on sunny days, so eyewear is needed. I find that the goggles do the trick & don’t wear my sunglasses on the slopes. The most important thing to remember is you can always remove layers on the mountain, so it’s best to be as warm as possible. If conditions are under 20 degrees Fahrenheit, if it’s a windy or snowy day, or you are just not used to the cold, you may want to wear an additional layer or two rather than just the long underwear under your ski gear.

For Après Ski:

Maybe you want to chill in the hot tub after a long, cold day of skiing. Perhaps you are going to the local bar. Too tired to do anything but relax in athleisure? I’ve got you covered! It’s a good idea to bring a few casual athleisure outfits to wear around the house, plus they can act as extra layers if needed on the mountain. If you’ve read my post about packing for 2 weeks in a carry-on you know I think it’s a good idea to recycle outfits on trips. This means you won’t need a brand new outfit for every single part of your ski day.
