Our Favorite Websites for Lodging

There are so many avenues for booking lodging for travel. Maybe you you use credit card rewards points, are a part of a hotel loyalty program, or prefer to book accommodations through word of mouth. We feel you & we also use a lot of different websites and apps to book travel accommodations; however, we’ve narrowed down our top 3 most used and trusted sites for you.

hotels.com is one of our favorite websites to use when booking travel. Hotels.com easily saves your credit card information, is available in an app on your phone, and is able to find hotel deals in most places around the world. We particularly love the fact that after you book 10 nights with hotels.com, you can cash in your Hotels.com Rewards in order to get your next night free up to a value of $125 a night. If you wish to book a hotel room that has a higher nightly rate, the reward is still applied in the form of a discount. This is the longest hotel rewards program that we’ve been a part of and we love it!

Airbnb is a super cool site that allows you to book a shared room, private room, or entire place to yourself on vacation. We prefer to book Airbnbs when we travel with larger groups because we find that having an entire place to ourselves is a fun option. It’s also a great way to save money on food because you can use a kitchen and store & cook food there. Some Airbnbs are pet-friendly. Some also have washers and dryers which is super helpful if you’re like us and prefer to pack in a carry-on only. When we spent 2 weeks in Europe, we packed only in a carry-on and were grateful for the washer in our Airbnb. Definitely check out the reviews, photos, and proximity to important locations for the city you’re visiting, but you’ll find through Airbnb there is access to a lot of cool lodging!

Hotel Tonight is a new and awesome website that is available in many cities throughout the world. While you can use this site or app to book hotel rooms in advance, the fun part about Hotel Tonight is allows you to book reservations last minute to get some of the BEST deals available. It’s a fun way to book a trip if you’re feeling spontaneous!
