Tips for Great Car Rentals

The purpose of this blog post is to provide our followers with a guide to great car rentals while traveling. We travel often, and have rented cars for many of those trips. Along the way, we’ve learned some tips & tricks we’d like to share to make your traveling experience easier. The following suggestions are based on our personal experiences with the car rental companies.

Hertz Car Rentals

Hertz Car rentals have a lot of positive qualities that make it great for renting a car while on vacation.

Pros:

✔️Hertz is a very popular car rental company which means it has locations at many airports.

✔️Due to their abundance of locations, picking up and dropping off the car is very convenient.

✔️They have cars available for a variety of price points and sizes.

✔️If you have personal car insurance, you’re covered on your rental.

Cons:

Renting luxury cars are pricey when renting from Hertz.

If you’re traveling abroad, depending on the country, you may need an international driver’s permit. (Tip: Harry easily obtained his international driver’s permit through AAA).

Turo Car Rentals

Turo Car rentals have changed the car renting game for us in the United States. Turo allows you to rent a car that someone has listed, or to rent your car out for others to use. Think VRBO or AirBnb for cars. We used this is San Diego, and could easily afford renting a new Mustang convertible.

Pros:

✔️Luxury cars are available at an affordable rate.

✔️No middle man. Download the app and work directly with the person who listed the car.

✔️Available with a pick-up option, delivery service, or lock-box entry.

✔️If you have personal car insurance, you will he covered in your rental.

Cons:

Only available in the USA and Canada.

After driving 300 miles, you will he charged an additional $1/mile driven
