Girl’s Guide to a Weekend in London

Hey y’all! This post is all about things you and your girlfriends should do if you have a few days to visit one of Lauren’s favorite cities, London. London is beautiful, historical, and has a very comfortable feeling about it. While it is a big city, you’ll be sure to find a lot of charm. Read below to see Lauren’s suggestions for a fun weekend with your girlfriends in London.

Visit Borough Market

The food and energy of Borough Market make it an unforgettable place! There’s something for everyone here. We tried so many foods, beverages, and looked in all the cool artisan shops. We recommend you definitely stop here during your visit, preferably around lunchtime, so that you can grab your food and drinks to go as you explore.

See Big Ben & The London Eye

These historical landmarks are a “must-see” attraction when in London. If you have the time, the champagne experience on The London Eye is a lot of fun. It’s a great way to view the city. Big Ben is currently covered in scaffolding, but when it is repaired it’ll certainly be a sight to see!

Visit Sketch

Sketch is an artisan bar that is out of this world! They’re known for their artistic, whimsical decor, and we bet you have never seen toilets like the ones they have there (pictured above)! The drinks are a little pricey, but they’re top quality & the experience is part of the price.

Walk across Tower Bridge

Many tourists mistake Tower Bridge for London Bridge because of its grand stature. You can go inside the tower and walk across a glass bottom bridge if you’re feeling adventurous. While you’re walking around the city, we recommend you check out London Bridge and Millennium Bridge, too, though you may find London Bridge a little dull compared to the others.

Find a Telephone Booth

What is a visit to London without stepping into one of these iconic telephone boxes? You can find these all over England. They’re a great place to snap some cute pics with your girls!

Ride the Tube

London is huge and while you can walk many places on foot, we suggest you take the London Underground, or “The Tube,” some of the time. You can buy a day pass, one trip tickets, or purchase an Oyster Card for your journeys. The Tube is very reliable and the map is easy to read.

Visit Hyde Park

Hyde Park is simply beautiful! In the winter they have a Winter Wonderland set up throughout. We recommend you grab some mulled wine and enjoy the holiday spirit. Regardless of the season, throughout the park you’ll see dogs running, children playing, soccer games (football matches), picnics, and more. It’s a wonderful place to stroll and unwind.
