Whether or not you have a long plane ride ahead of you, nothing is worse than being stuck on a plane without something you need, or feeling extremely uncomfortable due to lack of an item. This comprehensive post will provide you with everything you need in order to be prepared for a plane ride!

Bluetooth Noise Canceling Headphones

Maybe you’re sitting next to a crying baby, a loud snorer, or generally just can’t stand the noise from the plane engine…in any case, noise canceling Bluetooth ear buds can make a dramatic change to your plane ride. I personally did not want to spend over $100 on headphones from Apple (even though I love Apple products). I purchased the Echo Buds from Amazon a few months ago and love them!! They’re great for so many things, but especially plane rides. The noise cancelation feature can be turned on or off. I like it turned off while I workout, but turned on while sitting on the loud airplane.

Bluetooth Headphone Adapter

One thing many people find as a drawback from wireless headphones is lack of an ability to connect to the inflight entertainment on most airlines. Stress no more because this Bluetooth Headphone Adapter can be plugged into the headphone jack on the inflight entertainment screen & it connects via Bluetooth to your wireless headphones. Viola! Crisis avoided and you can keep wearing your comfortable, noise-canceling earbuds. This particular adapter is fantastic because you can connect up to 2 wireless headphones at once, making long-haul flights a little more fun for you and your S.O. or BFF.

Eye Mask

I like to sleep on planes no matter the duration of my flight, but when I have a long-haul flight I really want to sleep well and for a few hours. When sleep is the main goal of my flight, I love wearing an eye mask. What’s great about this eye mask is that the nose covering portion blocks out light that will otherwise sneak inside. Wearing an eye mask also signals to the flight crew & other passengers that you want to be left alone. Enjoy your flight & rest well with this fantastic eye mask!

Ear Plugs

If you have noise canceling headphones or ear buds you may not wish to bring ear plugs along for your ride; however, I am scared that if I fall asleep with my earbuds in they may fall out and get lost. I prefer disposable ear plugs because I can put them in for a good night’s sleep, but if they fall out and get lost it’s no big deal. Ear Plugs are also a great way to drown out the sound of crying babies, loud snorers, and loud plane engines. I recommend bringing a few pairs in case your accommodation at your destination is a bit loud.

Phone Charger

You will want your phone charger on the airplane. If you have an iPhone you can use this charger, and if you have an android you can use this charger. Not having your charger on the phone can be annoying if your phone houses your entertainment, but it can also cause for difficulty upon landing. You may need a digital boarding pass for a connecting flight, Google Maps to determine directions to your location, and your apps to find a rideshare service. Moral of the story: Don’t let your phone die on the plane!

Portable Charger Power Bank

Now that you know you shouldn’t let your phone die on a flight, have you ever found yourself on a plane without a charging station? This can happen! To be prepared, I recommend that you bring a portable charger power bank with you. The one linked here can charge up to 2 phones at once, which is very convenient. This will also come in handy while you’re at your travel destination, especially if you will be using apps for directions, ridesharing, or social media content.

Tablet

Tablets are great on planes because the screen is larger than your cell phone, its lightweight, and it can house all of the content you want to utilize on your flight for entertainment or work purposes. I love the Fire tablet because it allows me to access social media platforms, email, streaming services, and books on my Kindle all at once. It is also extremely lightweight and easy to transport through the airport & store on the plane.

Cozy Socks

Having cozy socks is extremely important on long haul flights. I don’t know about you, but I cannot stand to keep my shoes on for 6+ hours; however, I also don’t want to have stinky feet grossing everyone around me out. This is why I always pack a pair of cozy socks. I can curl up in my seat to sleep without my toes getting dirty, or my shoes accidentally touching someone. I can also ensure that my feet will be nice and warm while the air conditioner is blasting throughout the plane.

Baby Wipes & Facial Cleansing Wipes

For as long as I can remember I’ve carried baby wipes with me on flights. This can help to just feel cleaner by wiping yourself down on long flights, but it also allows you to have access to being more sanitary after eating. I recommend if you have a long flight to wipe down your neck, chest, back, and armpits in the bathroom with your baby wipes & then reapplying deodorant before you go to sleep. You’ll feel (and smell) better! The game changer for me, though, was using these Micellar Cleansing wipes to remove my makeup & wash my face on the aircraft. My skin is so sensitive & this is gentle enough to keep me nice and refreshed while traveling.

Refillable Water Bottle

I cannot say enough about the necessity of staying hydrated while flying! It will help you feel better & experience less jetlag than if you dehydrate yourself by accident. Of course the flight will likely be serving water; however, I find it is not always enough. Also it can take a long time to get served on a flight depending on the size of your plane, so having a water bottle in your seat is a great idea. This will also be useful as you travel around at your destination.
