Best London Markets

Read for the London Markets You Must Visit

Oh beautiful London! It is one of my favorite cities in the world, and one I frequent more than others. Part of the magic of London is its cool, quirky, eclectic market scene. Perhaps I’m biased because I love browsing, shopping, and eating at markets as a general past time activity, but I daydream about these London Markets more often than others. I hope you find this guide useful!

Borough Market

Eating a Lamb Kabab in Borough Market

Borough Market is an excellent market in London located right beside the London Bridge rail terminal and London Underground station (Jubilee line). Its proximity to the Tube station makes it an easy place to visit. It has fantastic hours every day making it an easy place to stop by for a drink, a look around, or a bite to eat. I love eating here! The smells of the food are truly intoxicating. Borough Market is open longest on Saturday, with limited hours on Sunday.

Camden Market

Next up we have Camden Market. My friends and I once had a five hour stop over at London Heathrow Airport and decided to take the Tube straight to Camden Market for a bite to eat for lunch before heading off to Italy. It is a short walk from the London Underground Station. If you’re not great with train maps, pull up your destination on Google Maps for transiting information, including which trains to take. Our mistake was not checking the visiting hours. If we would’ve checked beforehand, we would have noticed that they open later in the morning than we had hoped. Don’t make the mistake that we made because on this particular trip we were robbed of experiencing the vibrant feeling that surrounds the market. If you do go when it’s open and thriving you will enjoy the beauty that surrounds the area. I recommend shopping, eating, drinking, and people watching here.

Pop Brixton

Pop Brixton is a temporary market with the goal of creating an awesome space out of a vacant area. It is meant to only last until 2022, so visit soon! We first visited Pop Brixton in 2015 and have since been back. This unique South London market is located just under 5 minutes from the Brixton Station. It’s got incredibly funky, progressive, and unique places to shop, eat, and drink. Please note that anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian after 6 p.m. due to their support of the Drink Aware campaign.
