So in case you missed our Ultimate Guide to a Weekend in San Diego blog post, Harry and I got engaged in December! Our wedding will be here before we know it (January 4, 2020). For my bachelorette trip, some of my bridesmaids and I made a trip to Miami, Florida for some fun in the sun!

Day one

First stop: Palace

Our flights left early from Atlanta which put us arriving at our fantastic Airbnb, located just a few minutes from South Beach, before lunchtime. We dropped our bags at the Airbnb, quickly changed, and took an Uber directly to Palace Bar for a bottomless mimosa brunch + drag show! Talk about an awesome start to an awesome trip!

Stop 2: Palace Rooftop Pool & Bar

When the 2 hour time-of-our-lives ended, we headed directly upstairs to the rooftop pool, equipped with a towel rental and a bar. Definitely bring your bathing suit with you to Palace. The pool area was gorgeous, and provided us with an excellent view of South Beach, which was located directly across the street. The drinks at the pool bar are a little pricey, so I’d recommend you and your bridesmaids get your fill on the bottomless mimosas.

Stop 3: South Beach

Since you’re already in your swimsuit, have your towel rental, and can walk across the street to get to the public beach, we suggest you do! If you take your rented towel with you, remember to return it to avoid a charge to your credit card. South Beach’s beautiful white sand and blue waters made for a gorgeous end to our fun in the sun on Day One.

Stop 4: Uber back to the Airbnb

Upon returning to our Airbnb, one bridesmaid and I walked to the Publix down the street to grab groceries and drinks while the rest of the girls decorated the Airbnb in true bachelorette fashion. Pro-tip– have a plan in place to blow up balloons if you bring them. We spent the afternoon relaxing, playing games, and making plans for the rest of the night.

Stop 5: Dinner

You can learn from us here: don’t go to Little Havana at night without a specific destination in mind. We were unprepared and ended up feeling a bit unsafe. After unsuccessfully finding a place to eat in Little Havana, we headed to South Beach for a dinner place we found on Yelp. We called it a night pretty early to get some rest before the next day.

Day Two

Stop 1: Charter a Boat & go to the Sand Bar

When you’re in Miami, you have to spend as much time enjoying the sun and water as possible, right?! We chartered a nice pontoon boat for half a day which took us to a popular sandbar. On the ride out you pass by the neighborhood of Miami’s elite & looking at the estates alone are worth the trip itself. Due to the looming fear of when Hurricane Dorian would hit, there were not many boats at the sandbar, but we can tell you it was so much fun! The water was perfect. The boat provided us with a cooler and ice, so bring your own drinks and lunch. We made sandwiches because they were quick and easy.

Stop 2: Uber back to the Airbnb

We suggest after a long day in the sun, take a break at the Airbnb to nap, relax, and shower before your late night.

Stop 3: Eat a Cuban Dinner

We got a recommendation for a good Cuban restaurant from our boat captain. After getting ready for the night, we headed to dinner and enjoyed all sorts of Cuban cuisine.

Stop 4: Nightclub

We ordered a nightclub package that included a pre-game at Senor Frogs before taking a party bus to the club. While we enjoyed the club, it felt like a money pit (you had to pay to enter the dance floor-no thank you) & in hindsight we’d recommend just bar hopping in South Beach, unless clubbing is your thing!

Day Three

We were originally supposed to stay for a total of 4 days, but changed our flights to leave for Atlanta on Day 3 because of the Hurricane approaching. It was a smart move because the airport closed on our original departure day.

Stop 1: Coffee and Breakfast

The weather was starting to become dreary so we opted to head to the airport early to hang out in the Delta Sky Lounge. Before going, we packed our belongings and grabbed some coffee to go.

Stop 2: Airport

As usual the Delta Sky Lounge makes going to the airport early an enjoyable experience. We reminisced on our fun-filled weekend and prepared for what to do when arriving home. We’d all agree that Miami is the perfect place for a Bachelorette Trip!

Hurricane Dorian

It feels necessary to include that the weekend of my bachelorette trip was the weekend before Hurricane Dorian was expected to make land fall on the Florida coast, but our weather conditions were wonderful the entire time. We did, though, change our flights to come home one day early which was an excellent idea as the airport was closed on our original departure date. It is no secret that Hurricane Dorian completely devastated the Bahamas. To help victims of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas click here.
