2 Days in Oxford, England Itinerary

Harry decided to join some of his friends in Europe to celebrate his graduation; however, he wouldn’t meet up with them until May 19 in Berlin, Germany. Harry’s sister, Becky, is studying abroad in Oxford, England through the UGA at Oxford program, so Harry decided to visit her there.

Tuesday- Harry flew into London Heathrow Airport and took a bus to Oxford. After dropping his bags at his Airbnb, he quickly made his way to the UGA at Oxford house to visit Becky. As he walked around Oxford and saw Keble College he was amazed at its beauty. He was equally as impressed with the lawn as he was about the college funded bar on campus. (While UGA is steps away from about 80 bars, they certainly don’t have a bar on campus!) Oxford had beautiful, one-of-a-kind architecture. He and Becky ended the night by getting drinks and a good view of the city at The Varsity Club. He’d definitely recommend it!

Wednesday: It was a typically British day as far as the weather goes-rainy and chilly. (Although it’s not really always that bad). Harry met up with Becky and went through the Bodleian Library which has a copy of every book printed in England. This is also where a handful of Harry Potter scenes were filmed because it was a major source of inspiration for J.K. Rowling. The tour of the library cost 5 pounds, but if you know the right people you can get in for free.

After touring Bodleian Library, the pair went to the Ashmolean Museum, a massive history museum. He felt like he could have spent hours there, but they had to leave just before closing. The best part about this museum was that there was no fee for entry. We grabbed a bite to eat at an Indochina restaurant called Banana Tree which is a little pricey, but worth every penny!

In summary,  Oxford is an amazing city full great architecture and great minds. It is very forward thinking and progressive. Some of its best qualities are that there are a lot of green space so you should definitely go take a walk on the park and along the river!
