With so much to see and do, you might be wondering how to make the most of your limited time in this vibrant city in just 24 hours. Fear not! We’ve crafted the ultimate 24-hour LA itinerary to help you experience the best of what Los Angeles has to offer. From sunrise to sunset, and even into the night, we’ll guide you through an unforgettable adventure that showcases the city’s highlights. So, put on your walking shoes, grab your sunglasses, and let’s dive into the heart of Los Angeles for a whirlwind tour you’ll never forget!

What to Do:

Hollywood Boulevard

What comes to mind when you think L.A. is Hollywood. Find a parking spot on the street near Hollywood Boulevard and go check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If you’re in a time crunch, or don’t care which stars you see, you can just park anywhere! However, if you have always wanted to see Patrick Swayze’s star, they have this handy map for you to use.

Griffith Observatory & the Hollywood Sign

This observatory and park has trails that you can take in order to get a good look at the Hollywood sign. Beware that the parking situation can be intense, so pack tennis shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle for good measure. If hiking isn’t your thing, you can drive around Mulholland Drive to get a look. You can’t drive up to the sign, but this view may be worth your time. Keep in mind that driving in the Hollywood Hills is no joke, so you want to be careful around the narrow, windy roads.

Erewhon Market

If you are a Basic B like me, then you have probably heard of Erewhon and their expensive smoothies. You probably also want to go take a visit. I went to the one in Beverly Hills, but there are a lot of locations from which to choose. I got a smoothie and it was delicious! I also checked out the items in the store. While this may not be the place that the average shopper wants to go to all the time, due to the price of the items, the quality is good and not everything is expensive. If you are planning on getting the smoothie, fear not- I didn’t wait too long.

Santa Monica Pier

The Santa Monica Pier is another iconic symbol of Los Angeles. Whether you plan on riding the feriswheel, the merry-go-round, or watch street performers, there is plenty of fun to be had here. It’s 9 miles from LAX making it worth the Uber if you have a long layover in town, too. Bring your pups along for some fun, but note (and rejoice) that there is strictly no smoking aloud.

Where to Eat and Drink:

Blu Jam Café– Brunch

This Los Angeles chain has many locations from which to choose, but you may prefer to grab some brekky in Hollywood. If you have food restrictions, don’t fret because there are loads of options to meet all dietary needs. Menu options range from Brunch Carbonara to Vegan Steel Cut Oats. You are sure to get the fuel you need to start your day here.

The Penthouse Restaurant– Aperitif

Located in Santa Monica at the Huntley Hotel, the Penthouse Restaurant is a great place to grab drinks, apps, or dinner. When we visited on our Babymoon, we stopped for an aperitif before dinner. The vibe is classy, but relaxed with bar, table, or lounge seating. There is also open-air capabilities and fireplaces, weather permitting. I recommend the spicy margarita or the virgin watermelon mojito.

Tar and Roses Restaurant– Dinner & Dessert

If tapas are your thing, you’re sure to love Tar and Roses. The service cannot be beat. Water and libations stay flowing and the staff is very friendly. We opted to get several plates to share, a few bottles of vino, and all three of their deserts. The ambiance was perfect for catching up with your dinner party. I can confirm this, as we shut the place down and were politely asked to leave at 11:30 p.m.
